Hygiene water is one of resource of water basis which has good quality and it can be used by human to be consumed or in doing their daily activities include one of them is sanitation.
This research has purpose to know tha factors which have relationship with utilizing or river water in Penyandingan Village Regency of Ogan Ilir 2009.
It is done by using analytic cross sectional method, to know the relationship among the independent factors like age, education, job, knowledge, attitude, and also the water processing with the utilizing river in Penyandingan Village Regency of Ogan Ilir 2009. The amount of research samples are 6o respondents.
The variable which is examined is presented in frequency distribution from and percentage. Rersearches do the test by using chi square test and significant level α = 0.05.
Based on the chi square test anallysis is known that 5 variables which has significant realtionship of the utilizing river water are age (p = 0,000), education (p = 0,000), knowledge (p = 0,000), attitude (p = 0,035) and processing of water (p = 0,000). Meanwhile the variable which doesn’t has significant relationship is job(p = 0,789)
In the framework of research to increase the utilizing of hygiene water , it is suggested to health official to increase the information about health and increase more the information about the way of utilizing and processing of river water.
